Once I understood that my life is best spent in the service of others, very little feels like an inconvenience anymore. We will stay up all night with a sick child without hesitation — not because it’s easy, but because love turns sacrifice into purpose.
The same becomes true in all areas of life when we shift from self-preservation to self-giving. When we live for ourselves alone, there is always a hollow space inside us — the very place where God longs to dwell. But when we become God’s helpers — His hands, His comfort, His presence to others — that emptiness becomes fullness.
And the most beautiful part is when the good we do needs no audience. No applause. No validation. Just quiet obedience. We do it not to be seen, but because He sees.
“Do good — tell no one.”
Because the only One we perform for is our Creator.
If you want to find God, go where love is needed:
in your family,
in your friendships,
and even in the stranger who crosses your path.
We are all God’s family.
We are all someone’s shade before they ever plant their own tree.
Matthew 6:3-4
“But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
