Tell Me, God

My blessed Lord, tell me my fate. My precious Creator, tell me the why and the where. Tell me I am becoming who You intended me to be. Does my existence serve a purpose I may never fully understand in this life?

So much remains untold, yet here I am.

You have given me more than I know how to recognize—blessings I can name and mercies I may never see. I breathe without remembering to. My heart beats, and You keep the cadence. Even while my mind searches for answers, life moves within me by Your grace.

I want to know, my God. You ask me to trust.

I want to see where the road leads. You give me enough light for the step before me. Still, I find myself asking for tomorrow while standing in the gift of today.

You have carried me this far. You knew me before anyone spoke my name. You knew my mother before she held me, and hers before her. Generations of lives have brought me to this moment, and so much of their love and struggle is beyond my knowing.

Teach me to be grateful for a life I cannot fully explain.

Thank You for this breath, this moment, this awareness that allows me to witness even a small part of Your creation. Forgive me for the times I have let what I do not understand overshadow all You have already given.

And Lord, while I wait for answers, let me be a light to someone else waiting in the dark. When life makes no sense, let me offer patience. When another feels forgotten, let me draw near. Let me carry forward the love of those You placed in my life.

Perhaps some answers will come through the way You teach me to live.

Until then, my God, help me trust You with the untold.

Amen.
