To Know Your Name

Before you were you, God knew you.

It is beyond human comprehension to grasp the magnitude of God's greatness. Our minds search for words to describe existence itself, yet language can only carry us so far. Before we had shape or form, before our first breath, God already knew us. We are not accidents of creation—we are known, loved, and called by the One who is eternal.

The realization that God knows your name changes everything. It reminds us that our lives are not random, but part of His divine purpose. We bear His image, and the life within us is a gift from Him.

The more I reflect on God's vast creation, the more I realize how little I truly know. This world, with all its beauty and mystery, is only a glimpse of a far greater reality. As Scripture says, "What is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

Strangely, the less certain I become about the things of this world, the greater my faith becomes. I no longer feel the need to have every answer. When I am puzzled, when life doesn't make sense, or when I cannot see the reason behind what is happening, I simply pause and remind myself:

"I may not know, but I know the One who does."

And that is enough.

Scripture

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart..." — Jeremiah 1:5

"Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." — Psalm 139:16

"For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known." — 1 Corinthians 13:12

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for knowing me long before I knew myself. Thank You that my life is not an accident but part of Your eternal plan. Increase my faith when I do not understand, and teach me to trust Your wisdom above my own. Help me find peace in knowing that while I cannot see the whole picture, You always can. May I rest in the assurance that I am fully known, deeply loved, and forever Yours. In Jesus' name, Amen.
